Each year the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) offers a scholarship to a deserving graduating senior from Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) and Middleton High School (MHS), or homeschool graduating seniors zoned for those two schools. The applicants must meet the criteria set by the HCAC and major or minor in the arts or arts related fields. Degree programs in art, creative writing, drama, literature, and music, as well as teaching in these areas or related fields, are considered. This year, the HCAC received applications from BCHS. There were no submissions from MHS or homeschool students.
The HCAC was proud to announce Halie Harris as the recipient of the 2020 HCAC Scholarship.
Halie Harris is a graduate of Bolivar Central High School and the daughter of Brandy Moses. She plans to attend Harding University to major in biology and minor in theater arts. Halie’s extra-curricular activities include the BCHS Book Club and honors courses. She also participated in two HCAC productions, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. The Musical and Murder at the Big Horn Ranch.
The Hardeman County Arts Council congratulates Halie on receiving this scholarship and wishes her much success in her career chosen field. We sincerely thank the other applicant who applied for this scholarship.
